AnswerA progressive jackpot slot adds a share of every stake to a growing prize. Unless you win it, the game returns less than its headline RTP.
Kinds
| Type | How it works |
|---|
| Fixed | A set top prize |
|---|
| Local progressive | Grows from one casino's play |
|---|
| Network progressive | Grows across many casinos |
|---|
| Must-drop | Set to pay before a stated amount or time |
|---|
RTP
If a jackpot slot's RTP is 94% and four points of that is the jackpot contribution, the game you actually play returns about 90%.
Odds
Rarely published and extremely long. Treat it as a lottery ticket attached to a slot.
Against a standard slot
If the jackpot is not why you are there, a standard slot at 96% is the cheaper game.
